Period: 10/01/98 through 03/21/2000
The Center for Universal Design was awarded grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and NEC Foundation of America to develop a CD ROM collection of Universal Design Exemplars. Building on the project Images of Universal Design Excellence (1996), jointly sponsored by NEA, the National Building Museum, and Universal Design Consultants, this new project will identify, describe and visually document approximately 50 excellent examples of universal design from across the design disciplines including architecture, landscape architecture, product design, interior design, and graphic design. Primary audiences for the CD ROM will include students and faculty in schools of design, as well as design professionals. Secondary audiences will include public, private and non-profit leaders who influence or commission design development and production.
