Biography
Tania has a BA in History with a minor in fine arts / graphic design from Washington University in St. Louis and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Visual Communication from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She earned her Master of Graphic Design from North Carolina State University in 2010 where she was a teaching assistant in Design Thinking with Marvin Malecha. She currently teaches alongside Dean Malecha in the course giving lectures on design processes and methods.Tania has lived and worked in Chicago and Boston, developing branding and communications systems for such clients at the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Accenture, MIT and Harvard University.
In the College, Tania teaches in Design Thinking, in Art + Design and in a cross-disciplinary course on writing, editing and curating to develop The Student Publication.
Her current research and work focuses on experimental methods in the design process—adapting design and creative processes to help organizational development and community building. Her work specifically focuses on the mapping of space, place and ideas as a formative research and analytic tool. She is the co-editor of Margin, an experimental collaborative design journal that seeks to bring various design voices into a dialogue of thinking and making.
